Picture Summer on Kodak Film Special Edition
Jason Fulford

€230,00
"Its pages portray an imagined desert town (the images were taken in California, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal, Japan and Italy) full of easy yet slightly uncanny scenes: a kitchen corner stacked with clean dishes next to a bottle of Sunlight detergent, all striped by rays of actual sunlight coming through the venetian blinds; sets of stairs repeated and blurred, thanks to that prism filter; a closer-up image of a metal watch curiously worn over a wristband." – The New York Times T Magazine

“Jason Fulford’s new monograph charts a dreamlike trip through a fictional place, where the sun and the shadows it casts act as the character to his playful narrative” – British Journal of Photography

“His photographs and, in particular, his Photobooks, are enigmatic, ambiguous, and profound” – Aperture Magazine

In Picture Summer on Kodak Film, a poem by two sisters echoes across Fulford’s photographs, comprised of recurring motifs: time, test strips, refracted light, rainbow color, and distortion through shadows. Characters and places are repeated in kaleidoscopic compositions throughout this vivid sequence. Though taken across the world (in Canada, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nepal, Thailand, USA and Vietnam), these photographs come together to create a singular visual language: one bright, timeless, fictional place. A place imbued with the unexpected beauty, humor and meaning, that one has come to expect from Jason Fulford.
